Letter #3

Dear Grandma Elena,

Hi Grandma.  It’s Darren.  I barely get to see you anymore.  The last time I saw you was last summer when I used to take you to the doctors.  Where are you now?  California?  Philippines?  I just want to let you know that I miss you.

You’re such a strong woman you know that.  Going through surgeries, and doctor visits; you sure know how to keep yourself healthy.  And you never seem to lose your charismatic attitude.  I gotta say though that I wish I could spend more time with you and just talk about stuff.  Things like how did you end up where you are now I would like to hear it one day Grandma.

After Grandpa passed away I know you were hurt and grieving but you’re lucky to have all of us.  All your countless grandchildren and kids.  I hope you know we do our best to keep you happy.  And don’t try to give us money every time we visit you.  Haha.  In all honesty just spending time with you is good enough.  That’s why I’m hesitant to accept the money every time.  But that’s how you do Grandma and we can’t change that. 

I want you to know that I love you and I miss you dearly.  I really really hope I get to see you soon.  You take care of yourself where ever you are right now okay Grandma?
